After a day and a half of planning, reflection and conversation the new Caritas Fiji Team were formally welcomed at Nicolas House this afternoon.
Caritas is the charity arm of the Church and works toward the development and rehabilitation of peoples and communities wherever the Church has a presence. After two years of discussion with Caritas Oceania, Fiji is now a member of Caritas International.
Leading the Team is the Director, Ms. Agatha Ferei Furivai. The Coordinator for the Social, Ecological and Justice Programme is Mr. Kositatino Tikomaibolatagane and the Coordinator for Disaster Management is Mr. Semi Masilomani. Sr. Mariana Tevurega will coordinate the programme for Women in the Archdiocese of Suva.
Archbishop Peter expressed his confidence in the new Caritas Team and the wealth of experience they bring to their respective roles in the Curia.
